AMT drops lawsuit against STM

The agency that runs the commuter train service in the Montreal area is dropping its lawsuit against the agency that operates the city's metros and buses.

The AMT had wanted to sue the STM for nearly $1.5 million for its share of operating costs of things such as bus terminals, reserved bus lanes and incentive parking lots. The bill dated back to 2011. The AMT had said it had to do something to try to get the money owed and to show good governance of public funds.

The STM had said it was ready to pay its fair share, but that there was a delay in providing it with the necessary documents and it needed time to examine them.
