Special effects firm coming to Montreal

A big special effects firm from England is going to set up shop here in Montreal.

La Presse reports that the announcement is expected to be the centrepiece of Premier Pauline Marois' visit to London next week.

Cinesite is best known for the special effects work it did for the eight Harry Potter movies.

La Presse says Cinesite will create 200 jobs when it establishes an operation in Montreal.

It's not yet clear whether the province is providing any financial help. A year ago, it lured the multimedia firm Framestore to Montreal by offering an interest free loan of $900,000.

Why? would they? and why would she go to England? Are they not the enemy?
Well when they get wind of the requirements to open up shop here...They will do an about turn and head back over the pond. I would not do business here...

How much will these 200 jobs really cost the Quebec taxpayers??? The 200 jobs vs the thousands of job losses, yes this will certainly require a dog and pony show for Marois to thump her chest with pride.

Cinesite had layoffs in April 2013, in England. Just another company re-aligning operations and looking globally for cheap labour and government handouts.

I hope those Brits are aware that unless Mme Marois has made some sort of special deal with them, they should not expect to receive any services in English from the provincial government.
