A West Island pizza parlor has come up with a campaign to raise funds for a young woman who's about to undergo treatments for cancer.
Heidi Canton, one of the managers of Spiros Pizza in Pointe Claire, says they're looking to raise $500 over the next month for one of their longtime customers — a woman in her 30s, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and will soon undergo chemotherapy.
The money would go toward buying a wig.
"We just want her to know that the Spiros family, which we consider her part of, is giving her some love and some support, and giving her one less thing to worry about," Canton says.
Until February 16th, they'll be selling gift certificates at the restuarant, with 80 percent of the proceeds going to the cause.
In the three days since they've put out the call on social media, her customers have responded. They're now one-fifth of the way toward reaching their goal.
