STM bus driver tried to run me off the road, senior citizen says

A senior citizen says she had a frightening encounter with an STM bus driver in St. Laurent on Wednesday.

The driver, apparently, tried to run her car off the road, and then came out of the bus aggressively to confront her.

The incident happened at around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday on Thimens Blvd. in St. Laurent.

Roxanne Ducharme says she's in shock.

"It was a super-scary event," Ducharme says. "When I did look at her face, she really looked like she was gone between her eyes and her body. I just froze."

Ducharme says after the bus cut her off, she shook her finger at the driver in a shame-on-you manner.

Ducharme says she tried to hide on a side street but the bus followed her and blocked her in.

That's when the driver ran towards her — throwing her fists in the air.

"I didn't move and I didn't look at her. I just kept my eyes on the phone, trying to dial 911. I was having trouble doing it, obviously, because I was shaking. But I ignored her totally, and she just kept on, and she wouldn't stop for nothing.

"The bottom line is, I don't know what I did to aggravate her. I didn't do anything."

Ducharme says she filed a report with the STM.

The STM says it's investigating and will not comment.

Thank God for unions! I foresee a congratulatory handshake and maybe some paid vacation in her future!

STM have a special arrangement with the Montreal police. The driver will not get any penalty or lose any points. If we're lucky, she'll be sent to drive somewhere where there's less people or during a night shift.

A public company like the STM should make amends with its users and let us know the consequences of their employee's actions instead of keeping us in the dark. Those of us who do investigate are shocked to find out that the driver was just put on another route with no consequences.

Just another public company with zero transparency. Remember, we paid to have that nutcase chase down a motorist. And we'll keep paying for her to stay there.
