Premier Marois visits L'Isle-Verte after horrific seniors' home fire

Offers condolences to community

Premier Pauline Marois is expressing her condolences to the families and relatives of those who have lost loved ones in a seniors' residence fire last week.

Marois cut short a trip to Europe to be in L'Isle-Verte, Que., today, where an afternoon mass is scheduled.

She met with the mayor and had a look at the scene of Thursday's tragic fire.

The premier called the brutal blaze "unacceptable'' and hopes that such a tragedy never occurs again.

Marois says everything is being done to provide support for those who survived the fire and to give closure to those still awaiting word on their loved ones.

But Marois says she wants to see the results of the investigation into the blaze before deciding how best to deal with the issue.

It's good to see the Premier doing something constructive and helpful rather than trying to break up Canada.
