A man in his 50's is dead after crashing his car into a Montreal bound Via train.
Surete du Quebec spokesperson, Seargent Audré-Anne Bilodeau says the incident happened around 4pm in Laurier-Station 50 kilometres south-west of Quebec City.
"It seems according to preliminary details, that the driver of the car would have by-passed the safety barriers to stop on the tracks".
Firefighters used the jaws of life to extract the driver from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead later in hospital.
Passengers were forced to remain on the train for several hours during the police investigation. None of them were hurt.
