Youngest victim of Ste-Croix attack dies

11-year-old Béatrice Godin.

Provincial police say 11-year-old Béatrice Godin has died in hospital, three days after a deadly attack thought to have been perpetrated by a man against his ex, her new boyfriend and her two children.

The bodies of 44-year-old Nancy Samson, 39-year-old Benoit Daigle, and her daughter, 13-year-old Médora, were found Saturday night in an isolated chalet in the community of Ste-Croix-de-Lotbinière, southwest of Quebec City.

11-year-old Béatrice initially survived, but had been kept on life support because she was an organ donor.

The suspected attacker, 54-year-old Martin Godin, remains in hospital in critical condition after a suicide attempt.
