WATCH: Man basejumps from Whistler Peak-to-Peak gondola

The RCMP in Whistler, British Columbia are looking for a man who leaped from the 1400-foot high ( 426.7-metre ) Whistler-Blackcomb Peak 2 Peak gondola.

The video shows a man and woman on board one of the gondolas.

They have forced open the door and after a brief pause, the man wearing a parachute , leaps out.

Whistler-Blackcomb officials estimate the cost of repairing the damage to the door at about $10,000.

The RCMP says there is an access road in the area where the jumper landed and it is believed he may have had a car waiting for him to take him out.
