Man who beheaded Greyhound bus passenger should get more freedom: psychiatrist

Vinci Li might soon be granted unescorted day trips outside his mental hospital.

A man who beheaded a complete stranger on a Greyhound bus in Manitoba may soon get more freedom.

Vince Li's psychiatrist is asking the Criminal Code Review Board to let Li have unescorted day trips.

That does not please Carol DeDelley, the mother of the man Li killed.

She does not think he should get any freedom.

Li has been at a mental hospital since he was found not criminally responsible for the killing of Tim McLean in 2008.

He was an undiagnosed schizophrenic at the time and said he heard voices telling him to kill McLean.

I hear a voice in my head and it tells me that he should stay in prison.

    Why? Just why?

Li should be released from 24/7/365 secure custody when his victim is. THAT would be fair.

Unescorted !? Fortunate psychiatrist still has a head that ought to be examined. My sympathies to the family of McClean.
