Yvon Marcoux, the Liberal MNA for Vaudreuil since 1998, has announced he won't be running for re-election in the current election campaign.
The 73-year-old Marcoux says he wants to spend more time with his wife, his children and his grandchildren.
"I don't believe I can complete a full four-year mandate in adequate fashion," he told a news conference Tuesday at his riding office in Vaudreuil-Dorion. "Being an MNA can't be done on a part-time basis."
Marcoux served as transport minister from 2003 to 2005, and then justice minister from 2005 to 2007.
