LISTEN: PQ unveiled three media stars as candidates this week

Journal de Montréal's Desjardins and Lamarre joined Marois' team today

For the second time today, the Parti Québécois introduced a new candidate who is also a prominent media figure; both are contributors with the Journal de Montréal.

Diane Lamarre, who was also, until today, president of Quebec's Order of Pharmacists, will replace Marie Malavoy as the PQ candidate in South Shore Taillon.

Pressed by reporters - who were told by a PQ press attaché to only ask questions about healthcare - Lamarre hesitated on how long her candidacy has been in the works (pharmacists were recently in negociations with the government).

"Yesterday," Marois reminded Lamarre (audio below).

Lamarre added: "It was confirmed yesterday evening - the evening before last."

This morning, former student leader Martine Desjardins, also a Journal pundit, was unveiled as the PQ's candidate in the North Shore Groulx riding. Wednesday, her former Quebecor Media colleague Alexis Deschênes, once a TVA reporter, became the PQ's candidate in Trois-Rivières.
