Arthur Porter acted illegally when he founded a consultation firm with Philippe Couillard four years ago, Le Devoir newspaper reports.
The contravention stems from the fact that, as the director general of the MUHC, Porter was not supposed to take on other activities without proper permission, which he did not seek.
The firm Porter, Couillard and associates never actually operated, but the Montreal health services agency says the authorization was still required.
This is not the first story to reveal that Arthur Porter was involved in other for-profit activities in the health sector without proper permission. He was forced to resign after revelations that he was contravening the law with his involvement in several overseas businesses.
