Man sought in connection with overnight stabbing in Longueuil

Police in Longueuil are looking for a 45-year-old man thought to have been involved in a stabbing incident early Tuesday morning.

The 46-year-old victim was on Curé-Poirier Blvd. near Westgate St. around 2:15 a.m., when someone stabbed him in the upper body.

He managed to stumble to a depanneur, where the clerk called for an ambulance.

The victim was stabbed several times, and remains in serious, but stable condition in hospital.

The man police are looking for is Abdelhamid Hajji, who they're calling an important witness.

Police are also suggesting a love triangle might have had something to do with the attack.

Anyone with information as to Hajji's whereabouts is being asked to call Longueuil police at 450-463-7211, or dial 911.
