Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre and his Quebec City counterpart Régis Labeaume had rinkside seats to watch the Montreal Canadiens defeat the Colorado Avalanche 6-3 at the Bell Centre last night.

The pair was treated to an exciting come from behind victory, led by newcomer Thomas Vanek who scored three goals on the night.

The goals were Vanek's first in six games since joining the club just before the trade deadline.

Brandon Prust,Travis Moen, and Dale Weise were the other goal scorers for the Canadiens.

Coderre took some time during and after the game to take a few selfies with Lebaume as well as Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher, defenceman Francis Bouillion ( whom the mayor described as his favorite player) as well as former Canadiens and current Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy.
