Flood watch for Montérégie and Estrie

They are stepping up surveillance on several rivers across the Eastern Townships and the Monteregie.

There is no flooding at this time, but water levels on several bodies of water are rising  and officials fear they may be spill over caused by ice jams.

Crews are working on several rivers this week, to break up the ice and clear potential trouble spots.

Water levels in the Montreal-area are normal.

You can check the status of a river near you at the Public Security website.
