Snow falls on Montreal again, sigh

Yet another early spring snow dump for much of southern Quebec, including Montreal.

We're expecting about 10 centimetres over the course of the day and both the city and Transport Quebec are urging drivers to be cautious on the roads.

About 1,000 city workers are busy clearing the streets, a week to the day after Montreal's first early spring snow fall.

Jacques-Alain Lavallée speaks for the city. He says they are monitoring the situation and focusing on clearing and salting the roads.

As for removing the snow, he says, "A decision will be made once precipitation has stopped and that we have all the data as to what's in store for the next couple of days weather-wise."

Off island, Transport Quebec is reporting that there is reduced visibility heading towards Ontario, with snow drifts on Highway 40.

Heading north, visibility improves around Mirabel. The South Shore is clear though there is snow on the roads.

Trudeau airport has reported some delays and cancellations to Chicago, Halifax, Moncton, and Toronto.

The STM says bus service is seriously disrupted due to weather conditions.
