New Forum poll puts Liberals ahead

A new poll conducted Monday suggests the Liberals are still heading for a majority government with less than a week to go in the campaign.

The poll, done by Forum Research, shows 41 per cent of Quebecers now support the Liberals, compared with 29 per cent for the PQ, 19 per cent for the CAQ, and Québec Solidaire with 7 percent.

The francophone vote numbers that Forum offers, however, are striking — the firm says the Liberals now have a 9-point lead among francophones, 39 per cent to 30. No previous poll during this campaign has given the Liberals a lead among francophones, and last week's Leger Marketing poll showed the PQ with close to a double-digit lead over the Liberals.

The telephone poll surveyed 854 people on Monday. It supposedly has a margin of error of 3 percent, 19 times out of 20.

@ric We can all but hope that the three amigos of Marois, Drainville and Lisee will be forcibly retired. Hopefully, none will get a taxpayer funded position as a consolation prize. i.e. none should be permitted to be in any government funded educational position going forward. No associate professorships and the like at UQAM etc.

It would appear as if P.Q. support is melting like snow in a microwave.

Be careful. This pollster is not very reliable. Get out there and vote. The only poll that counts is the Election Day one..

@Marilyn I agree with the statement about not taking things for granted.

It is a privilege to vote, there are people around the world that only can dream of such rights.
