Bungalow firebombed in Laval

Police in Laval are investigating after a bungalow was firebombed late last night.

Witnesses say they saw someone running from the home on Croissant de Paris in Duvernay at around 11:30 last night.

There were found people inside the home. They all managed to get out safely.

Damage to the home is estimated at $60,000. So far, police have no word on suspects, or a possible motive.

  • Cyclists good to share the road with skateboarders, mostly

    The city of Montreal has voted unanimously to allow skateboards to use the island's bike path network--and it appears the city's cyclists are behind the decision, for the most part.

    "I don't mind them, the worst is people with electric motorcycles. I think skateboarders are fine [on the bike path]," said Ashley Rastel, riding on the bike path on Rene Levesque Blvd. E.

    "The road is there for everyone," echoed a man who wished to be identified as Eric. "Everyone is paying tax dollars everyone should have a right to share it equally, whether you are walking, biking; whether you have kids on the back of your bike or whether you have a skateboard or rollerskates."

    "We're going towards a society where people have multiple choices in terms of their mobility. If we start limiting people were forcing them to go to things like their cars, that's not what you want, you want people to be healthy,you want people to be healthy so skateboarding, biking, walking, running --- do it."

    A small handful were less enthused to be sharing the roads with skateboards, particular the more hardcore cycling ethusiasts and those with biking in their job description. Read More
