30-year-old woman killed in downtown traffic accident

CTV MONTREAL

A 30-year-old woman was struck and killed this afternoon by a dumptruck at the corner of Mackay and Ste. Catherine.

Police are suggesting the truck hit the woman while the driver was trying to make a right turn at around 2:30 p.m.

It appears both the woman and the driver had a green light.

Was sitting eating sandwich in front of St. James The Apostle Church just after accident happened. Got excited blow by blow description from fellows there. On returning from appt. saw tarp as in yr pic. Still a crowd. Later was witness to fiasco on Park Avenue. Life in the city, I suppose. Sigh.

This is what happens when we build cities that put cars first and people second. It should be the other way around.
