46-year old woman in critical condition after NDG fire

Montreal's arson squad is investigating a fire at a west end apartment building.

A 46-year old woman was found unconscious when firefighters arrived at 5841 Sherbrooke west at Regent in NDG Sunday morning.

She remained in critical condition.

"The fire was limited to her room and the fire quickly extinguished", said Luc Galarneau, fire department chief of operations.

The blaze began in the bedroom

Officials say many apartment had no fire detector.

Other tenants were allowed back home.
