Body of missing police officer found

There are reports that the body found Saturday in the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of Lac Saint -Pierre is that of Eric Martin, former Surete du Quebec police officer and ex member of the Quebec anti-corruption squad.

Eric Martin left his condo in Pointe -aux- Trembles wearing only slippers and pyjamas on the evening of December 29th . The windchill at the time was in the minus 30's.

His family feared for his safety. The 49 year old man had apparently been having suicidal thoughts.

    People still like to think that mental health problems aren't really that big? People should think again. Law enforcement should have regular screenings by a psychologist and be occasionally tested with a lie detector to also protect the peoples side a bit more and could aid in preventing corruption and lies and cover ups in cases. Police are not above the law, but it should be the law that all people needing help should be treated accordingly regardless of wealth or race. It is a serious issue.

      @chloe I agree what you say. However when Veterans have been fighting this battle and the Canadian gov knows about these problems - for a long time- and do nothing about it, what will it take for the gov to take action?
