Marois and Couillard to meet for first time since election

Premier Pauline Marois will make her first public appearance today since she lost the election on April 7th.

She will meet with Liberal leader Philippe Couillard at 11:00 a.m. to prepare for the transition of government.

Insiders have said it is highly unusual the meeting between the two leaders has taken so long to set up.

Once the meeting between the duo is over, Marois will meet her soon-to-be  ex-ministers at 2:00 p.m. and will appoint a number of them to high-ranking positions in the public service.

Liberals MNAs will be sworn in Thursday, PQ and CAQ MNAs will have their turn next Tuesday.

Philippe Couillard will unveil his ministers next week.

Why does she have the right to appoint people now, after she lost the election. She should not be allowed to do that.

How does this work? She still has the authority to appoint high-ranking civil servants? This seems so wrong! They could do serious damage .....
