No less than eight separate police forces, including the RCMP, SQ, and Montreal and Laval forces, were involved in a series of drug raids across the Montreal area Wednesday morning.
The raids are taking place in Montreal, Laval, and several other cities on the north and south shores, including St. Lin, St. Jerome, Rosemere, Ste. Sophie, Candiac, St. Bruno and Lachute.
About 300 officers were involved in executing 36 search warrants. A total of 12 people were arrested.
Operation Underground is the culmination of an investigation that began last September.
The network in question is said to traffic in all kinds of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine and synthetic drugs.
