Quebec synchronizes tax filing deadline with Ottawa

Revenu Québec  has extended the 2013 income tax filing deadline by five days to May 5th.

The decision comes after the Canada Revenue Agency was forced to shut down it's e-filing system last week to patch a security hole caused by the Heartbleed bug.

Revenu Québec says it's websites were not affected by Heartbleed.

In an statement on it's website the ministry says it's goal goal is to avoid penalizing anyone for last week's interruption in the online services offered by the Canada Revenue Agency.
