Suicide in France prevented by man in Quebec

A  man living in Rivière-du-Loup is being hailed as a hero for saving the life of a woman in France.

The Journal de Montreal says a woman from Clermont-Ferrand in central France posted a comment to the Facebook page administered by  Nelson Carrière last Saturday.

The page entitled  "Le messager de l'au-delà"  or, 'The messenger from beyond', is devoted to topics such as spirituality, meditation, clairvoyance and paranormal activities.

She claimed she was going to kill herself.

After trying to contact her and getting nothing back ,  Carrière reached out to the woman's aunt and then  French police.

They were able to find her by tracking the signal from her cellphone.

And they found her just in time.

She had written a farewell note and then consumed a quantity of pills and alcohol.

Carrière says authorities found her unconscious  and in the nick of time.

The woman has since telephoned him to thank him for saving her life.
