An event at the Olympia Theatre turned violent overnight. Several people called 9-1-1 about a brawl outside, and possibly one man armed.

It happened around 2:45 Monday morning.

When police showed up to break up the fight, projectiles were thrown, according to Constable Danny Richer with Montreal police.

"Two people were arrested for criminal charges," he said. "We're talking about assault on police officers, and seven people were intercepted concerning municipal bylaws."

Police stopped a vehicle on René-Levesque and Papineau Avenue looking for a suspect, who is still said to be at large.

The Olympia was hosting "Dance with me in Kreyol."
