Mercier Bridge reopens two days ahead of schedule

It's some good news if you're travelling on this long holiday weekend - or if you plan on using the Mercier bridge to head to work.

The Mercier bridge was completely reopened to traffic, Sunday, two days earlier than scheduled.

The span was only supposed to reopen Tuesday morning, but roadwork wrapped up two days early, according to a Transport Quebec spokesperson.

The work, however, isn't over.

The bridge will be partially closed for a few more weekends: April 25, May 2, May 9 and June 9.

During those times, one lane will be open in each direction.
