Canadian flag absent from PQ and QS swearing in ceremonies

Elected members of the Parti québecois will be sworn in this morning in Quebec City.

The party will be removing the Canadian flag for the ceremony, as it has done in the past.

The flag will be put back ahead of the ceremony for CAQ MNAs later this afternoon before being removed once again for Quebec Solidaire.

The swearing in ceremonies come a day ahead of Philippe Couillard's announcement of who will form the next cabinet

How Childish , Shame on them - they are all the same. Petty and embarassing - If they feel
so strongly about this - they should just leave the Canadian Province - and let them move to france were they would not have to worry about the french language - How can they stand living in a Canadian Province - using Canadian Money !!!

@maria Extremely childish and petty. What part of *The Province Voted Overwhelmingly Against Them* don't they understand? As Pauline claimed, should they have won, WITHOUT HAVING CONSULTED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR THE OTHER PROVINCES they'll use the Canadian $ backed by the Canadian Economy and Federal Reserves; they'll use the Canadian Passport; they will not spend their $ on a border service; and will probably expect to continue to receive Federal Transfer Payments just because they need the $$$ and we're nice.

They don't deserve to have the Canadian flag there. They are nowhere men making nowhere plans for nobody.

With time, this generation of seperatists shall phase out and a new generation of tech savvy, global aware, confident generation who will move this province from a culture of exclusion to inclusion.

Anyone stupid enough to vote for the CAQ is too stupid to have right to vote . The pq and the caq are one party people and Legault 's speech about need the Anglo vote is backed up with the omit ante of the Canadian flag. 5minutes after asking for the support of the Anglo community he asked the 3 stooges to join his party. Once a snake always a snake, once a seperatist always a seperatist.

Time perhaps to make it a law that the Canadian flag cannot be taken down by anyone as long as Quebec stays in Canada. These disgusting dimwits should be tried for treason!

Why do they even have the right?

The majority government should INSIST that the flag of the country be present and that if they PQ and other traitors don't like it, then they can forego taking their seats altogether.

Hopefully now that the Libs are in majority power for the next 4 years they will pass a whole bunch of new laws that protect the Anglophones rights in Quebec so we wont have to feel like second class citizens ever again in our province and even pass a bill making it illegal to take down the Canadian flag in any provincial or federal building. Punishable of up to 2 years in prison and a fine for a first offence.
    1. Rene Levesque posted on 04/22/2014 11:06 AM
@Derek You are dreaming in technicolor.

The reason anglophones have less rights is because of the laws passed by the liberals years ago including bill101. Anglophones will never feel at home in this province and they are dying a slow but sure death. There is nothing left to save...accept it and get out if you can.

@Derek What is needed is a Federal Government with guts to pass a law forbidding racist laws and implementing a Constitution that forbids racially prejudiced laws. You can't have a Constitution, the highest law of the land, when it can be bypassed whenever.

This makes them feel very important.
This is all about their own narcissism, power trips and big egos.
Politicians who accomplish nothing, needing to justify their existence.

This is not acceptable and I doubt if it is legal. Quebec is Canadian property and Quebecers are Canadian.
  15. andy posted on 04/22/2014 11:08 AM
Not at all acceptable. The PQ, lost, so the Canadian Flag should remain. There should be no accommodation, for the PQ, they are the ones who wanted to destroy a Beautiful country like ours.

Someone below wrote below mentioned, the CAQ, not having the Canadian; I think he is mistaken; unless I read wrong or misundersttod?

" The flag will be put back ahead of the ceremony for CAQ MNAs later this afternoon before being removed once again for Quebec Solidaire. " Its Quebec Solidaire.

Anyway, I am happy to see the Canadian Flag and the cross in the Government house.

Our country is based on Christian Morals and Values.

Have some sympathy. In the same way that vampires can't look at a cross; the PQ elite would be blinded by the sight of a kippah or niquab or the Canadian flag. English also apparently brings on deafness, So be kind to these deficient representatives of many Quebec voters. After all look at the superb job they've done in the past in promoting the Quebec economy. By the way instead of just complaining here have a real impact: dump Videotron.

This show of lack of respect to Canada is what got these leaderless morons the sound beating they so, richly deserved. Now we just need Pelodeau at the helm to guarantee us peace and quiet while we concentrate on the real issues,.

These blockheads still do not get that it was this pettiness that got there sorry asses kicked to the curb. Instead of paying attention to the important issues that dog this have not province they are still dealing with childish stupidities from 40 years ago. Hopefully when the house sits and the flag is there, the clan will not show up for that reason, so the Liberals and supposedly finance minded CAQ will get together and get these said finances in order and the clan will not be there to distract the important proceedings with something 75% of the population wants to know nothing about.

The PQ lost the election because they tried to remove Canada from Quebec or vise versa- depends which way you look at it. That a good majority of Quebecers don't want to separate. I just hope people will start flying Canadian flags in Quebec.

A feeble attempt to stay in the news and in the media....

The best thing to do is don't share this (sorry CJAD) .. :)
    1. Bob Bertrand posted on 04/23/2014 06:46 AM
@Frank Mamone Closing your eyes is what the Federal Government did last referendum. It doesn't work and almost cost us our country. We need to do the opposite. Publicize and vilify it. And a Federal Government to implement a Constitution and forbids racist laws. No where in Canada are French forced to squint to read signs, or sit at the back of a bus. Rosa Parkes was a long time ago and the world has moved on from racism........except Québec.
  21. peter posted on 04/22/2014 03:13 PM
Lol, like we really care what they do or say anymore. The PQ are sore loosers as usual and doing this makes them feel important to Quebec... NOT!! Glad the Liberals won the election, but too bad we didn't vote every last one of them out. Let's hope the Liberals don't screw up this time and keep the PQ out for generations to come.

PQ Party , They want to use the currency of Canada, they want no border or passport, they take down the Canadian Flag, that the nation of Canadian Men and Women fought for in WARS so they could live freely like they do within CANADA . What they have now is totally no class . Thank GOD they are gone four years at least.
