The owner of a popular West Island brasserie is taking the City of Pointe-Claire to court in an effort to get approval for his expansion plans.
Peter Sergakis has been trying to get permission to expand the kitchen facilities and the dining room in Le Manoir for several years but has been blocked by municipal bylaws.
An attempt to have them overturned in court has failed.
He's also failed in his bid to change the terms of his liquor licence.
Sergakis wants permission to sell more than just beer and cider.
He is seeking a a liquor licence which would allow him to set up a bar and serve customers , who would not also be required to order food.
Sergakis is now taking the matter to Superior Court and is seeking $660,000 in compensation for his troubles.
The case is scheduled to be heard May 13th.
