WATCH: Pacioretty tries to hand hockey stick to kid; man swoops in and snatches it

Moments after Max Pacioretty was named the first star of last night's series-clinching game against the Lightning at the Bell Centre, he tried to hand his game stick over to a young fan in the stands — only to have a man reach in and snatch it. He left the kid forlorn for a few seconds before handing the stick to him.

Pacioretty scored the winning goal last night — a power-play goal at 19:17 of the 3rd period — to give the Canadiens a 4-3 win over the Tampa bay Lightning, and their first playoff series sweep since 1993.

What a jerk! He probably only gave it back to the kid because it was caught on camera.

That guy must have been at the Easter egg hunt.
Felt sorry for the kid that didn't get one.

The boy who got the stick is... my son.

I am not so sure that the person who took the stick away did it intentionally as if he did, he would not give it back so quickly.

He could easily go away with the stick, not caring about what the people around him, think as he probably won't see them again (I don't believe he knew the camera is on him)

So instead of bad words, I want to thank the person who made my son so happy

and, thank you to pacioretty, he is a true gentleman.

Now I need to buy a new longer bed for my son as he wants to sleep with the stick :)

I just wish my son could meet Pacioretty, just to say thank you
