Ronald McDonald gets a makeover

Ronald McDonald has a new look.

The red hair and big shoes are the same but the hamburger chain's mascot is taking a more flexible sartorial direction.

The clown will now have the ability to dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. His formal look features a new red sports coat worn over cargo pants. For more casual times, he has a vest to go over his striped shirt.

The freshening up of Ronald's look comes as McDonald's tries to engineer a bit of a business make-over, with more emphasis on traditional favourites such as the Big Mac and its french fries and a push to make the processing of orders both faster and more accurate.
