The mayor announced plans for a major renovation project for Place du Canada that will cost around $9-million and take 18 months to complete.
Work is scheduled to begin this May and last until November of next year.
Involved is renovating the park, cutting down about 20 trees and planting 80 new ones and expanding sidewalks.
And moving bodies.
Place du Canada sits atop an old cemetery and the remains of between 150 and 200 bodies will be moved to Notre Dame-des-Neiges cemetery.
There are believed to be about 38,000 bodies buried underneath the popular downtown lunch spot.
De la Cathedrale street will be closed between July and November of this year.
