Quebec remaining vigilant against measles

Quebec health officials have raised the measles alert level in Quebec, though not a single case has been reported.

Measles outbreaks have happened in Calgary, Edmonton, parts of central Alberta and in British Columbia where 400 cases have been reported.

The Quebec Health Ministry is putting front line workers on alert.

Info-Sante employees,  nurses who answer the lines at the toll free 8-1-1  health information service, are being asked to pay particular attention to the symptoms callers are describing.

In 201, 200 Quebecers contracted measles, which prompted the government to implement a massive vaccination campaign.

Some 70,000 people  mostly students were immunized , or received boosters.
