Carey Price's missing dogs are back home

Thanks to alert TSN 690 listener

A South Shore man was able to help Habs goalie Carey Price with a family crisis this morning.

Last night, the Montreal Canadiens' star goaltender tweeted that his two dogs — Labrador retrievers named Duke and Motty — went missing. "If anyone finds two labs running around Candiac they're mine,'' he tweeted.

At around 6 a.m., a south shore man responded to his tweet.

John Mastromonaco of Candiac was on his way to work Monday morning when he learned of the tweet while listening to TSN 690. He was passing a local bike path when he saw the two dogs just trotting along.

"So I stopped and the dogs came right to me," Mastromonaco said. "They sat down right next to me and they had dog tags."

Mastromonaco called the phone number on the dog tags and reached Price's wife. He was soon on the way to the Price home to return the dogs and was met at the door by the Habs star himself, who presented him with a signed hockey stick for his trouble.

Price's Canadiens are set to play Games 3 and 4 of their second round playoff series with the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre. The best-of-seven series is tied at one.
