The morning after the Canadiens defeated the Boston Bruins 4-2 at the Bell Centre to take a 2-1 lead in games in their second-round playoff series, a number of Habs fans turned up at the team's practice rink in Brossard.
Many came from far away to be in town for the Bell Centre portion of the series.
Keith McCarthy traveled from Toronto with his wife and daughters. He says being a Habs fans in Toronto subjects him and his family to some abuse.
"To be here and actually get to meet the players and be a part of this whole experience, it's phenomenal," he says.
Rob Chessum and his brother Glen dropped in from Nova Scotia. They had never seen a Habs home game in person until last night's nail-biter.
"Amazing absolutely amazing," he says. "You can watch it on TV, and you think it's loud, but as I'd been warned, it's nothing like being there."
Game 4 goes Thursday night at the Bell Centre. At the end of it, the Habs could have a 3-1 series lead — or the stage could be set for what would effectively be a best-of-three series beginning in Boston on Saturday night.
