More protests against Canada Post cuts

Post office cutting up to 8-thousand positions

More protests against cuts at Canada Post.

Montreal was one of several Quebec Cities where marches were held Saturday.

Partcipants showed up at Place Emilie Gamelin, near the Berri metro station, and then took to the streets with some holding signs saying "Save Canada Post".

Others held signs that said "Sauvons la livraison a domicile", (save home delivery), some waved union flags.

The Post Office plans to cut as many as 8-thousand positions as a result of heavy financial losses.

Home delivery will be phased out over 5 years.

In Quebec, delivery will be cut in five north shore cities by year's end, including Lorraine and Charlemagne.

Other similar events were planned in Quebec City, Gatineau, Rimouski and Alma.
