SQ investigating the death of a man in Granby

The Sûreté du Québec has been called in to investigate the death of 40 year old man following a police intervention in Granby early Sunday morning.

Anne Mathieu spokesperson for the SQ said at 12:30 A.M. Granby municipal police were called to a private residence on Rue Paul-Émile.

Following the intervention a 40 year old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died in hospital a few hours later.

Mathieu said the SQ was mandated by the Public Security Minister to investiage because there was a death involving the police.

All posibilities are being investigated including the possibility the man's injuries were self inflicted.
