Situation improving for ER wait times

Data reveals emergency room wait times are decreasing on average across the province, according to a report in a La Presse.

Patients on average wait 16 hours and 42 minutes to be transferred from an ER stretcher to a bed on a ward, 48 minutes less than last year.

In Montreal, the averages wait-time is down an hour and a half, but is still high in comparison to the provincial average at 19 hours 30 minutes.

The provincial goal, set out by the Health Ministry, is 12 hours.

The hospital with the worse wait times in the province, according to the report, is the Argenteuil Hospital in the Laurentians with an average wait of 26 hours.

The hospital on the Island of Montreal with the lowest average wait is the Montreal General, at 16 hours and 12 minutes. The highest on-Island wait is the Fleury hospital at 28 hours and 24 minutes.

    Wow. And this is something that is acceptable and we should be proud of? And the goal is 12 hours??? Just wow.
