UPDATED: Police cruiser slammed by vehicle on Ville Marie

A vehicle slammed into a cop cruiser on the Ville Marie Expressway

The 720 westbound was closed between 12 and 6 AM Thursday after a vehicle smashed into a parked SQ cruiser.

The vehicle was travelling west on the Ville Marie Expressway when it came behind the parked cruiser at the Fort street on ramp.

Photos show the back of the cruiser completely crushed.

Two Quebec provincial police officers in the cruiser were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.  He was taken into custody and released after police determined he was not drunk.

They did find marijuana on him and he may be charged with driving under the influence.

The SQ said the cruiser was parked there to direct traffic after the hockey game on Wednesday night.
