Explosives found in Cartierville home; young man to appear in court

A big sigh of relief for residents in north end Cartierville.

The Montreal police bomb squad has dismantled explosive devices found at triplex on Robertine-Barry street.

Officers spent the day and night dismantling them, 19 in all.

Firearms were apparently also found.

Police have been questioning an 18-year old man they believe acted on his own and was not part of a group or a gang.

It's not know if he had permits for the weapons.

Some 50 Cartierville residents have been told they return home after being forced out as a result of the long drawn police operation.

The suspect is expected to appear in court Monday on explosives charges.

He might face additional charges.
