Shhhh! AMT testing new quiet zone on commuter train

Commuters who want a little peace and quiet while taking the Mont Saint Hilaire train will be able to do so as of June 1st.

The AMT Metropolitain Train Authority has reserved the second level of its double decker trains as a silent-electronic device zone.

Cellphones and other such devices will have to be in silent mode, those wearing headphones will have to turn down the sound so it doesn't leak out, and conversations whether they be by cellphone or in person have to be as quiet as possible.

The so-called Tranquility Floor is a four month pilot project which will be permanent on all train lines if successful.

The idea comes at the request of commuters.
