California kidnapping, sex assault victim found alive after 10 years

A woman who was 15 when she disappeared 10 years ago in California told police that she was forced to marry her captor and they had a child together.

Police said Wednesday that they booked her captor, 41-year-old Isidro Garcia, on suspicion of kidnapping for rape, lewd acts with a minor and false imprisonment.

Police say Garcia was dating her mother and lived with the family in 2004 when the girl was 15.

Police say that Garcia drugged the girl and drove her to a house where he locked her in a garage.

Authorities say he used physical and emotional abuse to prevent her from fleeing. The now-25-year-old woman says Garcia forced her into marriage in 2007 and they had a child in 2012.

She came forward to police after finding her sister on Facebook.
