Montreal ERs see The Habs Effect

A casual polling of Montreal hospitals finds that the playoffs have had an impact on ER activity.

Over at the CHUM and the Lakeshore General, their numbers show a slight decrease in ER visits during the Montreal Canadiens playoff games.

The MUHC says anecdotally they also have seen fewer patients and visits to the ER when the Habs play. Though they did notice an abnormal blip during the second game against the Rangers Monday night when emergency doctors were really busy.

The Jewish General Hospital had no information to report at the time.

While Canadiens games have not really had an impact on the ER at St. Mary's, their head of emergency Dr. Rick Mah said that based on his observations,  it was quiet the evening he worked during game seven against the Boston Bruins, who ended up losing the series to the Habs.
