Advice on this National Missing Children's Day

Sunday is National Missing Children's Day.

Among other things, 22 children are reported missing everyday in Quebec, 64 per cent are found within 24 hours.

"The message for National Missing Children's Day is our support to families and our commitment that we are never going to stop seraching until all missing children are found. We're trying to really make sure that the population understands that these children are missing, but they will never be forgotten", said Pina Arcamone, executive director of the Missing Children's Network.

The day was marked at Francois Perrault Park in east end St Michel where, among other things, families were given safety advice.

Tips include ensuring young children know their personal information, including their complete names, parents' complete names, addresses, and phone numbers.

"As well, knowing where to get help; who are some trustworthy adults and trustworthy places where we can seek refuge in case we feel someone following us and what to say in an emergency situation", added Arcamone.

More than 53-hundred kids were reported missing in Quebec last year, more than 41-thousand across Canada.
