William Kokesch will remain out of prison, at least for the summer.

The former Beaconsfield deacon's pre-sentencing hearing scheduled for today was pushed back until October 16th, where a psycho-sexual evalation of Kokesch–which could alter his sentencing–will finally be presented.

Crown prosecutor Dominique Potvin says he's had a chance to look at Kokesch's psycho-sexual evaluation, but won't comment on what it contains.

I cannot actually tell you anything about that because nothing is published right now, the reports are not even in the court file, so we need to wait until it is pleaded [in court] at least before commenting on that," he told reporters this afternoon at the Montreal courthouse.

"There a minimum jail term indentury of 12 months, however I will not coment on what the suggestion of the prosecution's office for this specific file [is] right now."

Potvin had said previously the Crown would seek more than the one-year minimum sentence. The maximum sentence is 10 years.

Kokesch, the former deacon at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church in Beaconsfield and former communications director for the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, was arrested in December 2012 after Vancouver police found online chats between a local suspect in a seperate investigation and Kokesch, which led police to discovering his thousands of photos and video of children engaged in sexual acts.

He pleaded guilty in February.

    Let me get this straight.
This despicable man who was arrested in Dec 2012, plead guilty and has been out free since then, is still not going to jail immediately??
He should have been there in the first place.
    I guess he'll enjoy a nice summer.
    Absolutely unacceptable.
Our judicial system once again has failed miserable.
