Man in critical condition after Laval house destroyed by fire

A man is in critical condition following a fire that destroyed a home in Laval early Saturday morning.

The victim was found unconscious by firefighters inside the home at 6850 19th Ave., in Laval West. He suffered from cardiac arrest.

Two other men were able to escape unharmed from the house.

The home is destroyed. According to Laval police, the fire was accidental. They suspect smoking was the cause.
