Electric car owners to get a break on parking in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie

The cost of a parking sticker for residents of the Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie borough will soon vary according to the type of car you drive.

The current rate of $70 a year will jump to $115 for gas-powered cars.

But the price will drop to $58 dollars for electric car owners.

The mayor of the borough, François Croteau, says the idea isn't to increase revenue, but to encourage people to drive more environmentally-friendly cars.

And what do you drive Mr Mayor?

    What a crock
Its not to increase revenue but gas goes up by 45$ and electric goes down by 12$ not to mention there are what? 6 electric cars in the borough?

No no... Increased revenue has nothing to do with it

i don't know what that borough mayor's been smoking but he needs to properly think this through. A parking sticker is to park on the STREET. where the heck can someone who uses street parking charge their electric car? people who own electric cars live and park in a home with a garage and do not park on the street. might as well charge electric cars $1.00 for the parking sticker since a total of 0 people will take advantage of it!
A tier system based on engine output makes more sense.

What is this crap!!!!!! This is not fair incentive to the citizens of this borough. Not everyone is capable of changing their cars to electric. This mayor must think we are all stupid as to believe this is not to increase revenue. What a gimmick for the borough to make more money at the expense of it's citizens. SHAME ON THIS MAYOR!!!!!!!!
