PQ admits problem with support among youth

A few PQ politicians say their party does have a problem with it comes to the amount of support among young people.

A poll says the Parti Quebecois is the least popular party among the province's youth.

It's a poll that seems to confirm what was already strongly suggested in last April's election results, that the province's youth are turning their backs on the Parti Quebecois.

MNA Véronique Hivon says her party needs to reframe its approach to sovereignty.

"That is not, maybe, something that has to be seen as an end in itself, but as a means towards achieving many different projects that concern young people," she said

The Liberals, meantime, are scoring more than double the amount of support.

That's something one of the party's younger MNAs, André Fortin, sees as a good sign.

"The federalist option is coming back among young people. They are more open to the world. They're thinking differently than my parents generation," he said.
