Twitter user hunts down hidden cash

Imagine finding cold, hard cash in an envelope. That's what happened to a Montrealer on Wednesday

Eariler this week, @HiddenCashMTL began posting posts clues on Twitter, leading people to a money drop.

The cold cash giveaways began two months ago in San Francisco with a millionaire with an altruistic streak, spreading out from there to New York, Toronto and other North American cities.

Marisa-Leon John is a new Twitter user. She followed a clue, leading her to find an envelope with $100 inside under a park table in Rosemary Brown park in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

She says she's been trying to pay her fortune forward.

"I pledged one of my colleagues at work, she's raising money for Animatch [dog adoption agency] so I gave her a little donation there," she told CTV News.

"Later that evening I had a softball game, so I decided to buy a case of beer for my softball team, so it's gone to a couple of good causes."

"Kindness is contagious [...] it feels good when you get to give back for no reason," she added.
