The CAQ is calling for a full investigation into how three men where able flown out of jail by helicopter, and the party wants the Public Security minister to report back to a National Assembly committee.

At the same time, the Parti Quebecois is demanding an explanation for why the men's security level was downgraded, despite a Le Soleil newspaper source that says authorities warned of a possible helicopter escape attempt last March.

But despite these calls, the Public Security minister says a publication ban, and concerns that the fugitives might be monitoring the media, prevent her from providing further answers.

"All the questions you ask me that concern the judgement, the conditions, the prisoners, there will be no response from me," says Lise Thériault.
